Kate Hudson, a talented actor, is best-known for her role in the Hollywood movie Almost Famous. The movie led to her receiving an Academy Award nomination. As a child of a film family, Hudson was destined to become a star in her early years. Her mother Goldie Hawn was a film actress and her father Bill Hudson is comedian. From an early age she was a performer and would seize every opportunity to perform on stage. Her parents made sure she was getting dance lessons, and she took classes at the Santa Monica Playhouse as a child. In 1996, she received a role as a guest on the TV drama Party of Five. Although she was accepted to New York University, Kate Hudson was more attracted to pursuing a career as an entrepreneur of the showbiz than getting having a degree. After appearing in a handful of minor films She was then offered the role that would be her first major role in the field. She was selected to play Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. The film failed at the box office however it received good review from critics. It established Kate as an actress in the American film industry.
