Amy Smart is a former American actor and model. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modeling career in Italy. Her first role as an actor was in the 1996 TV film Her Costly Affair. After a difficult fight to get a part, she was offered a role as "Starship Troopers" starring in Starship Troopers. Amy had a difficult time making the switch from modeling to acting, as models are not usually considered good actors. They're often given small and unimportant parts. Amy was determined to keep trying. She climbed the ladder to bigger roles. She began in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. The 2005 romance comedy Just Friends, which also had Ryan Reynolds, saw her take on larger role. The film became a massive box office success and Amy was finally able to get the recognition that she was trying for for more than a decade. Amy worked on several of the most famous films including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless with Jason Statham, in which she played an enduring character.
