Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modeling career in Italy. In 1996 she made her first appearance as an actress in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get the role on Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. In the beginning, it was hard for Amy to transition from modeling to acting. The reason is that most models don't have the ability to act. In the majority of cases, they're assigned small and insignificant roles. Amy was never discouraged. Her first big roles were in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. Amy later stepped into lead roles in 2005's love story Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy got her first recognition by the industry for her performance in the last decade. She continued with significant films like the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she was a well loved recurring character.
