Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist and author television host, and proprietor of the independent liberal online newspaper The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece then moved to England when she was sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student, she was elected the president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Following her graduation, she was an influential conservative journalist who was syndicated. Then, a couple of years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political landscape. Her status as a celebrity helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to write their own opinions about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003 when she ran as an independent in a recall vote in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. Additionally she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Her rank was 12th on Forbes's list of the most influential media women. At the time, Guardian listed her among the 100 top media figures. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her the head of that media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the journalist who also works as a management consultant. Though she shared a kinship connection to both her father and mother, it was their bond which shaped her. Even in her early childhood, she displayed the skills of leadership for which she is well-known. When she moved to England, she was 16, to pursue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college as she was the 3rd and only female to serve as president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist and critic and a television host. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She started writing books, taking his help with editing.
